Provincial Procurement Restriction Policy

The provincial government has issued a Procurement Restriction Policy, in effect as of April 4th.  The purpose of the policy is to restrict US businesses from accessing public sector procurements in Ontario, as a response to US tariffs on Canadian products and services. 

Purchasing Services is working with Supply Ontario and the Ontario University Professional Procurement Management Association (OUPPMA) to ensure that roll out of the policy is compliant with all requirements and consistent across the sector. 
 

Further communications and directions on purchasing activities will be provided in the coming days.  In the meantime, no changes should be made to procurement processes, and no discussions with suppliers should be held without Purchasing Services involvement.
